Real Girl Loves: March Favourites

One of the most exciting things about being a new blogger is finally getting to do what you’ve always seen other bloggers do! It’s like a self-assuring stamp of “Ah! Now I must be a blogger”. So in that spirit of honesty and blogger-ness, let me introduce to you all the things I’ve loved and owned and bought and worn in the month of March!

Favourite Accessory – Midi Rings!

So I’ve been eyeing midi-rings for a while now. They have Phoebe Buffay and 90’s glam written all over them – but I wasn’t sure I’ll be able to pull it off. But on a shopping spree at Forever 21 recently, I just couldn’t resist. I bought a stack – and went straight for the bold look, as they are pretty chunky too. I gotta say, I’m in love! I’ve been wearing them a whole lot. Not necessarily all of them together though. But that’s what I like about this statement accessory, it’s about as ‘statement’ as you want it to be.

Favourite Shoes: White Kicks

If you stalk fashion magazines and websites like I do, you will realize that white shoes are the trend to follow at the moment. What I love about that though, is the fact that this trend is so wearable and so comfortable. I love being comfortable. And though I do own heels, I tend to always gravitate towards wearing my flats everywhere. These white shoes go with everything and look specially cool with skater dresses! I had been looking for a pair for a long time and found these super cute ones at 20 Dresses. I love that they have a lace detailing – it makes them just a little bit different. If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram, you’ll know how much I wear these shoes which also explains that they are not as white as they used to be! Now that’s something I definitely have to work on. 🙁

Favourite Make-up: Bright Pink Lipstick By Maybelline

I *love* free things! Did I mention I’m Sindhi? I got this lipstick  with a bunch of make-up from the Maybelline kiosk at Shoppers Stop and the total amount exceeded a certain sum and I was eligible for a free lipstick. (Btw, they usually have some or the other such offer going on so make sure you ask them about it.) Anway, it’s  a really bright pink (almost Neon) and I may not have gone for it in regular circumstances but I convinced myself to be bold and try it out rather than go for a boring brown or something. I love the packaging and the colour payoff too. The exact shade is Pink Alert  from their Coloursensational Range in the Number POW4.

Favourite Song: Wakhra Swag by Navv Inder Feat Badshah

OMG guys. I’m so obsessed with this song. In any case, I’ve become quite the Badshah fan in recent times – do you blame me though? After DJ Waley Babu and Chull, who isn’t? And I love Punjabi music anyway! So all through March this has pretty much been on loop. Looks like April shall be no different either. Oh Wakhra Swag Niiiiiii….. 😛

Favourite Restaurant: Malaka Spice

I recently went to Pune on the long weekend and kind of fell in love with the chilled out vibe and plethora of options in terms of restaurants and bars. So while there are the regulars that I never miss when I’m there – like my forever favourite Thousand Oaks; this time I happened to try one that I had heard about so much! Malaka Spice totally lived up to the hype. I loved the boho-hippie-tarot vibe of the place and the food was to die for! Not to mention the Watermelon Margarita was so smooth, it felt like I’m having the yummiest version of fresh fruit juice. 😛 I definitely plan to go back there next time I’m in Pune but it was most definitely my favourite restaurant from all the ones I’ve been to in March.

Favourite Thing To Eat: Chef’s Basket Alfredo Sauce Pasta

When I started this blog itself, I gave you all a disclaimer – I don’t know how to cook. So when I come across wholesome yet delicious options of instant foods, my happiness knows no bounds. This cutely packaged, meal for one is honestly perfect for someone like me. You just have to boil the pasta and add the ready made sauce and extra cheese or veggies if you wish and it could pretty much pass off as restaurant food. No seriously! It doesn’t give you the feeling that you’re having just a makeshift meal. Besides, I’ve always been a sucker for a a good white sauce pasta. And now I can make one in a few minutes flat – like a pro. Just call me Sanjeev Kapoor now. Okthnxbye!

Favourite Colour: All Pastel Hues

While it would predominantly be mint, I’m actually in love with all pastels! How pinterest worthy is this picture, by the way? My wardrobe is predominantly ruled by black and in general I’m quite a bright colours kinda girl. So I’m surprised at just how much I’ve been loving pastels this past month. I guess it’s the magic of summer, huh?

Favourite t-shirt and glasses: Best Dressed Long Tee and Reflector Shades by Forever 21

Needless to point out, I went  a little crazy shopping at Forever 21 recently. Out of all the things I bought, I’ve ended up loving and using these two the most! I’ve been wanting shades like that – reflector ones but not bright and flashy. These ones have a blue tint and are kind of subtle..though you can’t really tell in the picture…I love that about them. And I absolutely adore the statement this loose, non-assuming T-shirt makes. I think the irony is what made me love it. Besides, I’ve always had a very real girl approach to fashion and it fist right in with my philosophy.

Real Girl March FavouritesFavourite Dessert: Macaroons!

This beautiful restaurant called Le Plaisir was selling these macaroons. We had  a lovely, wholesome brunch there and I loved the vibe. It had large windows with natural light streaming in and a cute European feel to the whole place. Just on our way out, I spotted these macaroons and bought  a box in an absolute hurry. I so wish I had bought more! Seriously the best macaroons I’ve had thus far. I realized that what I like about these macaroons is the fact that the centre was extra filled. This makes them more flavourful and less dry. I tried coffee, dark chocolate, and lavendar + sea salt. And now I’m salivating so I’ll end this post! Do remember to try them if you manage to go to Pune or you live there!
