April Favourites, Finally!

April was a hot month that made me shop a lot. I’m going with that explanation.

 

Pipa+Bella

My month began on a high note when this much awaited treat (gift to self) arrived in the mail. The gorgeous red box from Pipa+Bella had enclosed within, something I was going to keep very close to my heart. Quite literally. Yes, in tiny gold lettering hang the words ‘#RealGirl’ attached to a dainty gold chain. I’m in love with this and pretty much wore it everywhere I went all through April. Oh, and the barrage of compliments didn’t hurt one bit. 😉

 

Zara Dress

My friend was getting married and asked us (her girl squad) to get pink dresses for the pool party. So obviously I went shopping and obviously I got tempted and obviously I bought a gray dress I didn’t need at all. Obviously.

(Psst: I kinda love it. Do you?!)

Zara Perfume

And given that my restraint is so exemplary I couldn’t stop at that, no? I had to pick up a roll-on perfume which was at the counter specifically designed for impulse purchases by shopaholics like me. But to be fair, I had been looking for a roll on perfume for a long time! Something that fits in your bag and smells divine and this one from Zara totally fit the bill.

Ice Breakers – Cinnamon

I spend way too much time obsessing over, buying, and having breath mints. I’m kind of addicted to Icebreakers and always have been. In April, I picked up the cinnamon ones. Not for the faint hearted, because they are kind of strong. Besides, you better *really* like Cinnamon as a flavour if you’re thinking of buying these.

L’oreal Infallible Foundation

OMG Guys, I’m so happy to announce I have found “the one”. So I’ve mentioned before that I’ve never been big on make-up (buying it or using it) so I have never really experimented with foundations. I had an old one in my make-up bag from Maybelline that wasn’t even the right shade as my skin tone. I had read reviews online (God bless beauty bloggers) and I decided to go in for the L’oreal Infallible one. It’s so light weight and its staying power is incredible! I also like that it completely blends in and doesn’t look cakey at all. This one was a win all the way!

ColorBar Stay The Day Finishing Mist

I know what you’re thinking. What in the name of God is a finishing mist? So apparently it is this magic potion that you spray on either to keep your make-up in place or to bring out the pigment colours in your eyeshadows or to generally prep your skin and keep it refreshed even sans make-up. And why did I need this? Because I was attending a summer wedding; and I’m not going to lie, I was super worried that makeup would just melt off my face! I had heard Mac has this awesome fixing spray and had read reviews online (apparently, that’s just what I do) but when I went to check it out at the store it was some Rs 1700 and I didn’t feel like spending that on a product that I wasn’t sure I would use or rather one that doesn’t have any use! Luckily, Colorbar has a dupe for it for exactly half the price and I bought it. Happy to report back, my makeup did stay on for hours despite the horrid weather conditions and terrible humidity. I definitely recommend it!

 

Netflix

Okay guys, I finally subscribed to Netfix and I’m obsessed. Also, a little embarrassed since I’m so late to the bandwagon. So..erm…moving on.

Fuller House

The main reason I got Netflix was this show. I was more than excited to watch my favourite family make a comeback. I used to be obsessed with Full House! The reunion show Fuller House is a Netflix Original Series and I had heard mixed reviews about it. People found the jokes dated and the content uninspiring. But I’m pretty sure those people didn’t watch or love Full House to begin with. The show is full of nostalgia and has managed to retain that awesome family drama plus humour that is so characteristic of the Tanner family. PS: How Uncle Jesse can still look so hot?! I’ll never know!

PS: Totally binge watched the whole season and didn’t know what to do with my life after.

‘Yes, My Accent Is Real’ by Kunal Nayyar.

The Big Bang Theory is one of my favourite shows in modern times and who doesn’t love Raj? I always wondered about Kunal Nayyar’s journey and how in the world he bagged that role. And then he went and wrote a book about it. Perfect! I bought the ebook on Amazon and read it on the tab. I’m not a fast reader but I breezed through his book. The writing is funny, honest, and insightful. I especially liked the part when he’s talking about his first few years in America – you can feel the genuineness of his emotions and the struggles he went through. I will admit that in some parts (especially when he talks of his family) it tends to get a little preachy but I choose to overlook that since it is overall entertaining. Or maybe I’m biased because Kunal is just so stinking cute. You know, whatever.
