#RealGirlReviews: Hedonista And The Art Of Spoiling Yourself

When the good folks over at Hedonista (a new organic skin care brand) sent over a few products over for me to try out, they had already wormed their way into my good books. But it was looking at the products that actually made me super excited. My background in advertising and having many a conversation with enlightened art directors and visualizers have trained my eye to recognize good packaging. From the logo to the labels, Hedonista products spell decadence. I was hoping I’m not building it up for nothing, and here’s what ensued….

1. Face Soufflé

I’m starting with the review of my favourite from the lot. The chocolate and rhassoul clay face soufflé that evidently looks (and smells) good enough to eat. To begin with, I’ve never owned anything like that before. The directions for use are to just apply it on your face, click selfies (as one does), and wash off in ten minutes.

I have done this review only after trying all the products a couple of times, and that’s how I have even concluded that this one is my favourite. It made my skin feel super clean and tight (every time). It literally felt like a spa-like indulgence, whilst sitting in my PJs and shopping online. You know the world is made of good things, when life affords you such chances. Besides, my skin feels better for having used this. The only negative about this product is that it makes me hungry and I end up binging on desserts after. Ah well, small price to pay really!

2. Face Scrub

If strawberry seeds and desiccated coconut is your jam (get it?) then you’re going to love this face scrub. All Hedonista products have a common theme running – that of indulgence. This product is described as a super-lush snack for your face. You’re supposed to massage it gently on your face and rinse after. This scrub also makes my skin feel super soft and cleansed. The only reason it’s not my personal favourite is its granular texture. It makes me very aware that something is on my face! (Yeah, I know, I have issues.) Those of you who like scrubs in general, will love this! And again, it will leave you hungry. You have been forewarned. These folks at Hedonista must be real foodies, I tell ya!

3. Face Dew

This right here, was one of those products I didn’t know I needed – up until now. But how was I managing life without it so far? I have no clue. It’s the perfect thing to carry around in your handbag. Made with chamomile water & essential oil, it just leaves you feeling instantly refreshed. Especially with humid weather like ours, our skin NEEDS this. Spritz it on and you’ll realize just how parched your skin had been feeling. Also, maybe it’s psychological, but it just makes me feel calmer. (Told you, I had issues). Anyway, I’m totally hooked, and several times I day – I do the dew!

All in all, I’d give them a 5/5 rating. Not because I have to. But then once in a while when a socially conscious brand (no animal testing) that believes in the goodness of organic ingredients and is made in India comes along – you have to appreciate it. If I can call a spade a spade, I can also call a great brand, well, a great brand.
